Notice to Patients Regarding Fertility Treatment Charges
Important Information for Patients Covered by the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
Dear Patient,
We would like to inform you about the charging regulations for Fertility Services within the NHS for patients who are covered by the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
Under current NHS regulations, individuals who are covered by the IHS are not entitled to receive fertility treatment free of charge. This applies to both partners if they are covered by the IHS.
(a) What This Means for You
If you or your partner are subject to the IHS, please note that charges will apply for:
- All diagnostic testing and investigations relating to fertility;
- All consultations and clinician appointments within the fertility ser-vice; and
- Any fertility treatment that may be offered as part of your care plan.
All such services are chargeable at the appropriate NHS overseas visitor rates.
